- "WWF is the world’s leading independent conservation organisation. Our mission is to create a world where people and wildlife can thrive together.

To achieve our mission, we're finding ways to help transform the future for the world’s wildlife, rivers, forests and seas; pushing for a reduction in carbon emissions that will avoid catastrophic climate change; and pressing for measures to help people live sustainably, within the means of our one planet." [1]

GreenPeace

- "Greenpeace is a movement of people who are passionate about defending the natural world from destruction. Our vision is a greener, healthier and more peaceful planet, one that can sustain life for generations to come.

We are independent. We don’t accept any funding from governments, corporations or political parties – our work is funded by ordinary people. That means we are free to confront governments and corporations responsible for the destruction of the natural world and push for real change." [2]

Marine Conservation Society

- "We believe too much is being taken out and too much is being put into our seas. Our scientists, campaigners, volunteers, advocates, data experts, fundraisers, divers and researchers are all passionate about creating a sustainable future for our seas.

Rainforest Trust

Fig. 7

- "Established over a century ago, Fauna & Flora International (FFI) is the world’s oldest international wildlife conservation organisation. We have been quietly shaping and influencing conservation practice since our foundation in 1903.

Our focus is on protecting biodiversity (the diversity of life on Earth), which underpins healthy ecosystems and is critical for the life-support systems that humans and all other species rely on."  [7]

Earth Island Institute

- "Earth Island Institute supports environmental action projects and helps foster the next generation of environmental leaders in order to achieve solutions to the crises threatening the survival of life on Earth.

Our project leaders work in communities spanning the globe protecting marine life, confronting plastic pollution, preserving forests, helping indigenous leaders protect their sacred sites, restoring wetlands, greening schools, and getting kids outside into nature, to name just a few." [8]

[9]

Young Peoples Trust For the Environment

- "Originally founded in 1982, the Young People's Trust for the Environment is a charity which aims to encourage young people's understanding of the environment and of the need for sustainability.
